My journey with music began in Year 3 when I started receiving violin lessons through my school's Instrumental Music Program. Little did I know that this initial spark of curiosity would shape my entire life. As I progressed through high school, I discovered that music had become an integral part of who I am.

After studying a Bachelor of Music at the University of Queensland and graduating with first-class honours in 2013, I realised that I wanted to share the magic of music with others.

​

Teaching has been a significant part of my musical journey, and I have had the privilege of teaching instrumental music in primary and high schools in the City of Moreton Bay (north of Brisbane), as well as offering private lessons in my home studio.

​

I am dedicated to fostering the growth of young musicians. For the past decade, I have been the conductor of MYME's Moreton Youth String Orchestra, actively nurturing youth music within the community. Moreover, my commitment lies in aiding schools to build exceptional music programs, ensuring that students can access a comprehensive and enriching music education.

​

In 2019, while fulfilling my teaching responsibilities, I took on the role of Conducting and Ensembles Support Officer for Education Queensland. My role involved providing support to instrumental music teachers across the North Coast Region. Seeing the positive impacts of this support on teachers and students further deepened my commitment to fostering educators' professional growth and supporting them through enriching development opportunities.

My journey has led me to where I stand today: the proud Owner & Director of Majenta Music. Established in 2021, this music school embodies my passions for youth music education, providing support to instrumental music teachers, and empowering school music programs.

​

Having personally experienced the significant impact of learning an instrument at school, I am filled with great joy when I see students embrace the adventure of learning to play a musical instrument. It is my sincere hope that they begin their musical journey with Majenta Music, where a world of endless possibilities awaits them.
